Hot Piano Night with Sharona & Friends!
Sunday August 29 at 8 pm

Sharona is hosting another night of hot piano tunes on the grand piano at the gorgeous Masonic Temple in downtown St. John's. This promises to be like the good ol' times where we'd sit and sip our martinis and enjoy some relaxing tunes in an ambient atmosphere. Enjoy Sharona's well-known and favorite piano covers and her original songs from two albums. Cd's will also be available for purchase. Visit www.yoursharona.com to hear her music and songs. Also featured are her magnificent piano-playing friends to share the night with you!
Special guests include:
Cullam Bruce-Lockhart – Nicknamed “The Wizard”, Cullam’s night gig includes playing keyboards for popular cover band 709. He is a jazz major and has sang and entertained in piano bars for many years, with possibly hundreds? of songs on his list, and has been seen jamming along with Sharona on many nights at the former Martini Bar Hot Piano Tuesdays. Charisma and energy abound when Cullam is at the keys! He plays a mean Ben Folds and Jerry Lee Lewis. Check him out at his band’s website http://www.sevenohnine.ca/who.asp?lid=3
Curtis Harding – Curtis is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to music. He plays bass, guitar and piano equally, and sings too. On the piano, playing and singing, he is captivating. A former piano student of Sharona on the piano, he developed his own style starting from the ABC’s and 5-finger exercises -- along with a great ear for music -- to playing ballads by The Beatles (his biggest influence) and writing his own song compositions. His band The Rising Design perform many of his songs and can be often seen playing at the Levee downtown. He is currently in studio with engineer Darrin Martin recording a band demo. See him performing live solo on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/user/curtisharding2009

SPIRIT OF NEWFOUNDLAND – New Owners of Masonic Temple
(Open for Bookings)
Spirit of Newfoundland is more than delighted to announce we are the proud owners of the historic Masonic Temple in downtown St. John’s. We are busy working on a plan that will be announced later but the focus will be to turn it into an elegant and accessible performing arts facility for the whole community. Until the full vision is announced we are taking bookings for all types of events.
The Masonic Temple is a historic and cultural treasure majestically positioned on a hill overlooking churches and the Courthouse. Visible from almost anywhere in downtown St. John’s, this 111 year old heritage structure is architecturally impressive with its neo Classical stylings boasting many towers with pediments, beautifully carved bricks, free-standing columns with globes, pilasters and detailed cornices. The interior is equally impressive with exceptional woodwork, ornate ceilings and pillars, an exceptional pipe organ and decorative plaster and archways. As the home of the internationally known fraternal Freemasons from 1896 - 2007, it is recognized as the largest brick fraternal meeting hall in the province.
While many people are familiar with the main floor of the Masonic Temple, the upper floor has been closed to regular traffic, being used only by the Masons who have been meeting there since it opened in 1896. That floor will soon be open to the public after some minor renovation.
